Dr. Heller completed his academic training at the University of Zurich with distinction, and graduated with a doctorate magna cum laude in 1998. He was admitted to the Zurich bar in 2000 and graduated as Certified Specialist SBA Employment Law in 2009.

After experience in the academic world, as an assistant to a professor of law, and after working for a major Swiss business law firm (one of the then largest at the time), he established his own law firm in 2003 (since 2010 "Heller Attorneys at Law Ltd.").

Dr. Heller is registered in the Bar Register of the Canton of Zurich. Furthermore he is a member of the following associations:

• Zurich and Swiss Bar Association
• Swiss American Chamber of Commerce
• Section of employment law at the Zurich Bar Association
• Lions Club Zürich-Airport; since 2009 lead of the group "Lions Think" (Think Tank of Lions International Switzerland)
• Alumni Scholae Einsidlensis (Boarding School of Monastery Einsiedeln)
• Alumni University of Zurich

Dr. Heller saw military service, holding the rank of captain, commanding a company of the mountain infantry.
